Become a Speaker
Are you a Catholic, purpose-driven or pro-life speaker interested in representation through TMG Catholic Speaker Services?
The following questions will help you in discerning if your profile fits the types of requests our office receives or the types of venues we seek out on behalf of our speakers.
Do you have at least one book, music CD, motivational CD or film project available in the secular or religious market?
We get very few requests for inexperienced, unknown or non-published speakers. This doesn't mean that we can't represent you, but it means that the number of opportunities that may be available initially are less than those who have name recognition or lead projects and apostolates of notability. Most event coordinators who contact our office are looking for a speaker who can help draw a crowd due to their name or association.
Have you spoken regularly in front of large audiences?
If you are just getting started in public speaking, we are probably not the right agency for you at this time. The typical event coordinator, parish formation director or Diocesan Director of Evangelization is looking for an experienced presenter for their event. We suggest that you start volunteering yourself as a speaker for local parish events or ministry activities, eventually working your way into an opportunity where your talk will be recorded and you receive a speaking stipend of some kind.
What is your current speaking fee?
The fees of our speakers vary from several hundred dollars to several thousand dollars, depending upon a variety of factors (venue, number of talks, demand, media awareness level).
How do you typically 'market' yourself for speaking engagements?
TMG Speaker Services will present your availability and speaker topics to nearly 2000 event coordinators, meeting planners and formation directors across the country. Our database consists of conferences, professional meetings and institutional events at the diocesan, organizational and parish level. Every quarter we mail a 'themed' catalog of our speakers to event coordinators and planners throughout the United States.
What type of management are you seeking?
We typically prefer exclusive management of speakers on our Speaker's Bureau. You can receive and solicit speaking engagements on your own but we prefer that you not appear on any other Speaker's Bureau, if possible. Exceptions can be made based on circumstance and we will work with you to develop those exceptions at the contract level of representation. TMG's Speaker services provides full management including fee negotiation and contracts with venues, collection of fees and facilitation of product delivery of your books or other products. All requests for speaking can be filtered through our office if preferred and all requests are handled in a professional manner, whether they are large or small venues.

Consideration Process.
Our goal is to get back in touch with you within two weeks after we receive your materials. We have a very busy communications practice and we thank you for understanding that our volume of work at certain times may delay our response to you. If you sent your materials and have not heard from us within a month, please e-mail Ashley at speakers@maximusmg.com to be sure your materials were received.
We desire to work with speakers who have a passion for their faith and are dynamic presenters in their area of expertise. Event and venue coordinators tell us that our speakers are outstanding, because their presentations are powerful, compelling and relevant to what's happening in the world. Whether the presentation is a financial presentation, a biblical seminar or an apologetics series, audiences who have the privilege of hearing one of our speakerscome away enlightened, engaged and transformed.
Once we have a chance to review your materials and determine if we can be successful on your behalf, we will notify you and provide you with a contract to get started and detailed information on our speaker process.
We reserve the right to reject interested speakers. You may need more experience or training, your topics may not fit the market we work with, or there may be something in your presentations that are inconsistent with Catholic teaching if you are from another faith tradition. Thank you for understanding that we cannot accept all interested speakers. God will place you in an agency that will represent you the best and where your ministry can flourish.
