Kurt Carrick

Bio

In the concert and speaking ministry, Kurt brings witness to men as he shares his experience as a husband and father. A gifted guitarist and vocalist, Kurt shares his gift of music in harmony with his wife and true love, while calling Catholics to their faith, church and family values. Kurt marvels in the presence of Christ as men thank him for sharing his testimony and faith through the powerful witness examples he gives and his expression through music. He recently said, "It's amazing to see grown men cry publicly, and take the chance to share with me what affected them."

In addition to being talented musician and gifted speaker, Kurt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with emphasis on Business Information Systems from DeVry University in 2006. Kurt worked in the private business sector for 10 years and the Department of Public Safety for the State of Arizona for 10 years. He then brought his business skills to Carrick Ministries Foundation.

Kurt and Julie were raised in Michigan and in 1982 they each moved to Arizona where they were married in 1983. Kurt served in the U.S. Army for 4 years during which time they lived in Germany and began their family. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1988, they made their home in Flagstaff Arizona until 1998. The Carrick's have been married for 25 years, have three children (2 adult daughters and a 15 year old son) Edel, Heidi and Paul, also 2 son-in-laws and 2 grand-sons.

They have been active in the Catholic Church, from music ministry to Engaged Encounter workshops for 10 years (from presenting weekends all the way to being part of the National Executive Team). They are also Benedictine Oblates and helped to establish a beautiful retreat center in the Flagstaff Catholic community. Since moving to Scottsdale in 1998, Kurt has developed personally as well as in his relationship with Julie, and together they have brought their individual talents, resources and identity as a couple, to form Carrick Ministries Foundation.
