Sister Rose Pacatte, FSP
Bio
Rose Pacatte, FSP, Med in Media Studies - is a Daughter of St. Paul and the Director of the Pauline Center for Media Studies in Culver City, CA. She is a noted international media literacy specialist, the film/TV columnist for St. Anthony Messenger (since 2003) and contributor to The Tidings and other periodicals on media, spirituality and catechesis.
Rose is on the boards of the Catholic Academy for Communication Arts Professionals, Catholics in Media and Open Call and is a co-director of the National Film Retreat. She has served on the Catholic and ecumenical juries of the Venice, Berlin, and Locarno, and Newport Beach film festivals.
She directs the Master Teacher in Media Literacy Certificate Program and facilitates online courses on the Church and communications and media, faith and values for the University of Dayton. She is the co-author of the award-winning Lights, Camera, Faith series and co-author of Media Mindfulness: Educating Teens about Faith & Media.
Sister Rose has been engaged in public speaking since 1975 through catechetical seminars for parents and catechists, media literacy training, media education professionals, catechetical and education professionals. She guides retreats and is a guest teacher on the university level. She presents to young adult groups and has served on panels on film, faith, media, image, and spirituality. She has also appeared on a variety of television since 1995, and is a frequent guest on radio shows. She has presented in the United States, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, and South Africa.
