Bio

Catholic Breakdancer - Conversion from Atheism

Chris Schwartz was born on September 16, 1980 in Washington D.C. by biracial parents of American and Asian Descent. Although he was born in the States, Chris was raised in Taiwan and attended an English speaking educational institution. At the age of 10, his family decided to settle back in the states where he would finish his education.

In the early 90's Chris was introduced to rap and hip-hop dance. Chris was fascinated with this dance style and found himself emulating dance moves from popular rap artists. As time passed, he started performing for live audiences.

Chris grew up without a faith education and when he reached early college, he became a strong-minded atheist. He mocked Christians and believed the church was only a money-making cult. But as he continued to live a life of selfishness, he soon found himself feeling the weight of his sins and those of others. Chris fell into much anxiety, depression and emptiness, and sought healing from a contradictory source - JESUS, which eventually led him to his conversion.

In 2004, Chris attended Franciscan University of Steubenville where he took master and undergraduate courses in Theology and grew deeper in his understanding of the Catholic Faith. He also became a member of Urban Annunciation - a Catholic hip-hop ministry and started his own hip-hop breakdancing class. In addition, he performed for religious events, including Urban Missions and St. Joseph Dance Competitions.

Chris now has his own breakdancing ministry and has inspired many youth and young adults with his conversion testimony; moving from the darkness of atheism to Catholicism. Chris recently spoke and performed for XLT in St. Louis, MO and for UMinistry in the Netherlands. Along with Ministry, he also runs his own graphic design business and a small entertainment business - Chris Schwartz Hip-Hop.
