Jon Simmons

Bio

Jon Simmons, President and Founder of CARDO, has been recognized as a highly successful business executive and entrepreneur for the past 20 years. In 1995, Simmons founded one of the first Web companies called Interactive Planet, which specialized in the creation of world wide web tools and services.

Shortly after the company's inception, Simmons was involved in a driving accident that claimed the life of a young 14 year old boy. Simmons took full responsibility for the accident, pleading guilty and was sentenced to 14 months in prison. During this time, he guided Interactive Planet through a merger and IPO. On the personal side, he began asking himself tough questions, such as what could be done to make situations like this "right?," or more specifically, how can tough life situations be successfully navigated?

Thus began a journey of human exploration for Simmons. After being released from prison, he continued his quest and became an avid reader of books on personal improvement, business strategy and spirituality trying to find the answers to what causes us to act against ourselves and what is the purpose of all that happens to us.

Simmons went on to a successful career with Oracle and quickly became known as a top business strategist as well as a motivator of groups, due to his ability to take on all challenges by "bucking" a person's system of thinking.

As a business consultant, Jon continued to see that something was missing within the current marketplace of personal improvement, self help, leadership, coaching, as well as personal potential. What was missing was the enabler, why was it so few people failed to act, or acted against themselves instead of acting for themselves and others? What had caused him to do the same? Why is it that so few people are fulfilled in life, and so many of them have so much?

What he discovered in his research was CARDO: The Principal Point, that on which we "hinge." The principle point is character. It is out of our character that greatness flows, and it has nothing to do with our station in life. It is in doing it right. It is not about setting the biggest goal for oneself, it is about setting it and then doing it right. So what is character and how is it formed? What is the true model? How do live lives of excellence and not have "empty" victories?

CARDO has extracted an enabling model from the lives of the Saints and the Bible which is called The Pivot Point model. That on character our lives pivot towards greatness or away from it. That the true purpose of work, or all the events of our lives is to form character, and what ensues out of this is a peace and satisfaction that is truly a new state of being. The result of this character is the ability to do greater and greater things and have them be fulfilling instead of empty. Simmons became so convinced that he has made the choice to dedicate his life to creating CARDO; the first mainstream human potential program created using a model derived from the scriptures.
